Pressing Into God

I waited patiently for the Lord, and He inclined unto me and heard my cry. I knew no other way would I find satisfaction, wholeness, or peace. In Thee alone is rest and purpose. Creation sings your praise, let My voice and the groans that come forth from My spirit be a praise to You.

I seek not to go my own way to find fulfillment, but wait for Thee. Here in this place of waiting it feels as though You desire me to press into You, seek You, leave all behind and call out to You. In this place, I must let go of diversions, distractions, and even forms of entertainment and just be still before You and wait in Your presence for what You will impart.

How uncomfortable and unnatural this feels for I have been guilty of not tarrying before Thee to receive from Your hand, but being satisfied with a fast thirst quenching and moving on and keeping in step with the chaos of the world flow. I want to busy myself with chores, ambitions, busy work, and to-do lists all to feel like my life has purpose, yet you call Me to wait before You for a moment in time.

Man’s logic says to try and strive and stay busy – You say to come and be still and know that You are God. Here My perspective changes from that of man’s limited viewpoint to the viewpoint of the One who made all of us. We are the works of Your hands and on Thee do I wait. Oh My love, how quiet and serene it is here with Thee. When I receive your filling even those tasks that before were hard and took more time I flow through with an ease and creativity from merely Your touch, Your presence, Your lifting of my head and renewing of my heart.Pressing-In

I draw you into greater depths with Me. In this place the strongholds you once were encumbered with lose their influence for your hunger and thirst are for Me. As you cry out to Me, I work in you to desire more of Me. The flow of My spirit is an ease not a striving. As You release the hold of those things that distract and surround you, My flow comes through you onto the world.

Release more. What spend ye your time on that is not of Me, that distracts you from My flow? Is it things of the world, is it busy work, is it man made responsibilities in My name? Sit before Me often, quiet yourself before Me and learn what is needful. Oh love, how needful this change in your focus to the works of your hands and the distractions of life to zone out and find any ounce of pleasure you can grasp at to a complete focus upon Me. From this change will come your purpose –here you will find the reason you were created. Here you will find pleasures forever more in Me. I will not leave you desolate but fill you to overflowing.

How hard it seems to press into Me, to be still and quiet your heart and mind before Me, to put down the electronic devices and cease from activity just for a moment and sit before Me. How much time is wasted upon the needless things rather than coming before Me and letting Me change you and equip you for My purposes. When you are equipped will I not open a closed door? Provide a way out of no way? You think, “But if I give up all my distractions will I not be left empty? I do not see the next step?” My beloved, My tender reed, I wait upon you to submit to Me and then I will make your way.

The way is not yet seen for would you not trudge ahead in your heavy load of works and care and try to accomplish My purposes apart from My strength? I must instill the practice of trading your burden for Mine, walking in Me, walking with Me, working in My strength, and letting My purpose flow from you before I can employ you fully. Yes, you will be busy, but it will not be a heavy and burdensome business, it will be the blessing of work through My grace.

Thank you for pushing into Me and seeking Me until I was found, for I need to stretch your heart to desire more of Me. Know that I Am always near, be confident in your pushing in, in seeking Me, I will always reveal Myself for the heart that truly desires Me.

  • “’For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.  Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.  You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.  I will be found by you,’ declares the Lord, ‘and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you,’ declares the Lord, ‘and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile.’”  Jeremiah 29:11-14
