What do we as Christians, God’s dear Children, the beloved of Christ expect in our relationship with God? What has Christ given us by his completed mission here on earth? He said he has come to give us life and give it more abundantly. He has also come to heal those who are sick (by His stripes we are healed) and set the captive free.
What does abundant life mean to you? If you have a relationship with someone do you not want the best for them? Whether it be a beloved spouse, a dear child, an honored parent, or a precious friend – you would not want to make them go through something horrid such as a sickness, live in poverty and want, or unleash all the powers of evil on them to express your love for them or to teach them a lesson. Would you not rather give good gifts to those you love – for isn’t that the essence of love – an outpouring of affection and words of life. Are our hearts greater than God’s? We are created in His image and He alone taught us to love.
Before knowing Him we were darkened in our understanding and driven about by our fleshly desires. His heart toward us is good – “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” Walk with your head held high believing and trusting in His heart toward us. Do not settle for the things man says is “life” or “life acceptances.” Think greater than these things. Read His word with a fresh viewpoint and see what He offers us – see what He sent His son to make provision for.
Begin to believe for the life He has planned for us. Do not accept what man says is the most we can expect from life. God’s viewpoint and abilities are limitless, but only limited by our beliefs. Do not see yourself or your circumstances based on your strengths but based on His strengths and what He can accomplish through you. All things are possible and all things work for good through Him who loves us, to those who are called according to His purpose.
Be excited to walk with Him on the heights. The heights – this is a place He desires us to live in. Walking with Him, living and moving, and breathing and having communion with Him. Walking with Him as Enoch did, living out of the deep places. “Deep calls unto deep in the rush of your waterfall.” Those places in you where your spirit groans and desire God’s will to be done in your life.
The heights – this is also a place where we manifest His presence and power because we have such a close relationship with Him. In this place His miracles, healings, etc are a reality and nothing out of the ordinary, for it is the inheritance of His children. Desire to walk in this place with Him. Cast off anything that would hinder or drain you from being in this place with Him. Every good and perfect gift is from above.
Do not fear living in this place, be assured there is a place to live in here on this earth while we walk in the land of the living. Others will see us in this place and desire to have what we have, desire to experience God as we are doing. Seek Him, ask Him to bring you to the heights. On the heights you will see your circumstances in a different way. Not a wall that is insurmountable, but you will see the Lord through your circumstance and desire to give Him glory by seeing on the other side of the circumstance. It will not be that you got out of that hard place, but how you got through it – victoriously, manifesting god’s power and might and giving Him glory by believing in His word and the way He desired to demolish the wall – not in keeping you defeated by it.
Speak His words over the circumstance and see the enemy flee. On the heights you will see circumstances not as troubles but as an opportunity to display His glory and others will see that you are more than a conqueror through Christ who loves you. Our roles are to speak His heart and word to the circumstance, and when we dwell so closely to Him we will know His desire and then watch how the circumstance will change and be removed.
We as God’s children have an unlimited hope when we walk with Him closely as a friend. We are limited by what we believe is His heart toward us, whether we or won’t open our hearts toward Him, and how much in interaction you want with him. Do not see Him as some distant being to be worshiped and adored and homage paid to. See Him as a beloved, a close companion, be one with Him. In this way your life will never be the same and those who touch your life will be changed as well for they will see the Glory of God revealed in His children.
Jeremiah 29:11-12
“‘For I know the plans I have for you,’” declares the Lord, “’plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.'”
