What am I doing with my life? What is my purpose? How do I accomplish it? These questions can surface when we lay down to sleep, are awakened during the night, or in the early morning hours when all is quiet. Are we living the lives God created us to live? Living on purpose is not about accomplishing a specific task or building a legacy out of efforts of our own making, it is about what we create out of relationship with the Father in Heaven through Jesus Christ.
He does not make “purpose” a mystery nor the way unobtainable – something we have to scale a mountain to achieve or explore the depths to obtain. He can take us right where we are doing the most mundane to the most complex of tasks and operate/flow through us – for He gives our life’s work purpose.
The most debase action from human reckoning can become the most holy act when we do it with the Holy Spirit flowing from us. He may choose to move us to a new location where we find different tasks to complete, but even if He stays us right where we are those tasks that we used to view as tedious or overwhelming can be acts of worship and fragrant offerings as we action on these with the Holy Spirit dwelling within.
What used to exhaust or overwhelm us can give us the greatest joy for we can feel His delight as we accomplish each action, as we can move by His promptings in the great and small. When we practice His presence in all we do, say, and think – we work for God. When we are one with Him all strength and inspiration are in limitless supply.
As you walk with Me, you will even be astounded of the revelations and wisdom that will come forth from you, for you will know it is not of yourself but Me flowing through you. I am limitless supply, never think, “Where will the next idea come from?” My love, it comes from My presence, it comes from the secret place with Me. Your inspiration will not come from outside stimulation, but from Me, the Creator of the universe and the ends of the earth. Hours will seem as minutes as we create together. Beloved, beloved, beloved work for Me.
Psalm 19:12-14
“Who can discern his own errors? Cleanse me from my hidden faults. Keep Your servant also from willful sins; may they not rule over me. Then I will be blameless and cleansed of great transgression. May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in Your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.”
Deuteronomy 30:11-16
“For this commandment I give you today is not too difficult for you or beyond your reach. It is not in heaven, that you should need to ask, ‘Who will ascend into heaven to get it for us and proclaim it, that we may obey it?’ And it is not beyond the sea, that you should need to ask, ‘Who will cross the sea to get it for us and proclaim it, that we may obey it?’ But the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,d so that you may obey it. See, I have set before you today life and goodness, as well as death and disaster. For I am commanding you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments, statutes, and ordinances, so that you may live and increase, and the Lord your God may bless you in the land that you are entering to possess.”
John 7:37-39
“On the last and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood up and called out in a loud voice, ‘If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. Whoever believes in Me, as the Scripture has said: Streams of living water will flow from within him.’ He was speaking about the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were later to receive. For the Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus had not yet been glorified.”
Colossians 3:23-25
“Whatever you do, work at it with your whole being, for the Lord and not for men, because you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as your reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. Whoever does wrong will be repaid for his wrong, and there is no favoritism.”
