An Undivided Heart

Oh, what the Lord could do with an undivided heart as we seek, worship, and walk with Him daily. This is something many struggle with. When we operate with a divided heart we may withhold a full commitment of our lives and affections from our Beloved. We might devote some time and attention to Him but then do what we want in other areas. For example, we may act or respond to people in gentleness and kindness in public or lend our support in lip service only, but vigorously tear them down in secret. We can also wrestle with a divided heart in our thought life or other areas no one else sees. I’ve experienced a divided heart in standing still where God has positioned me even though it may not be comfortable or my dream location/position. My struggle here is to keep a settled heart right where He has placed me until He gives the marching orders. Even though we may know He placed us in a certain position for a season there is a pull from our flesh to be elsewhere doing something different. We may want to run from less than perfect circumstances and create our own way by starting new somewhere else rather than fully waiting upon God to deliver us in His way and time.

Wherever we are, let us be all there doing exactly what He has given us to do for as long as He has need of us. Let us settle in our hearts to live each day and each moment to the enth by letting God bring forth through us and our circumstances that which He desires to do – no zoning out, no sedating, no fantasizing what another life would be like. The Lord can do great things with one whose actions and inner workings are in unity with His heart. Here there is a peace for we do not have to wrestle with our selfish motivations or hidden agendas – we can do all with a sincere heart as unto Him. What a light walk filled with fellowship in the Almighty and the power of His purpose. I pray the following word from the Lord gives you comfort as we all learn to sit, walk, or stand with an undivided heart.

I have revealed and taught you much about the limitations of a divided heart and will now show you the importance of a heart fully committed to Me in word, deed, and thought. You will desire this one-mindedness with Me more and more as you begin to see Me working through you to meet needs and pour out My power and display My love and splendor. You will come to know how serious the issue of double-mindedness is and how much this has hindered the walk of man with Me.

Beloved, you do not yet fully understand how a heart set fully upon Me in prayer can change all of your circumstances at the personal level to the changing of the highest workings of nations. How I move on behalf of the sincerest cry of one of My beloved’s. When this cry reaches My ear, I will change everything about that life. You will look back and remember these as the days of lack but also as the days where you learned to hunger for Me, to depend on Me, to reach out to Me to meet every need both spiritually and physically. I will pour you out to be a blessing to all – you will share My words and deliver My promptings that I place within you. You will operate not in want but in plenty.

You look in all directions for the way My deliverance will come and just know it will. It most assuredly will overtake you and set you on a new way of living, a higher level of blessing, a deeper walk with Me. Beloved, cease your efforts of looking endlessly for a new way to be made and follow My leading only, for it is I who make your way.  At times I shut the doors of change tightly on My beloveds to make them flourish and grow right where they are. I want them to bear fruit  with all that I’ve set them in.

For a time I’ve planted you here. The former days of this planting have been filled with refining fires to temper your character, soften your heart, and draw you unto Me. My love, I tell you your latter days in this place will be much different.  You will be glad you didn’t seek an escape but stood where I positioned you not only to sow but to reap of the benefits of the fruits of your labors. You reasoned, “I can start over in a new location and leave all the sadness and heartbreak behind.” But I tell you I desire to bind up your wounds here and make this a place of abundant streams.

Where there were deserts it will overflow with streams of abundance and blessing. I will make your streets blessed and your houses sanctuaries where you can enjoy Me. Your mouth will be filled with laughter once again, not a laughter wrought from the pain of disappointment, but laughter from your deepest places from a sincere heart of awe at the goodness I bestow upon you.

You do not need to relocate to be blessed. If I had not finished with your time of refining you would move into the same circumstances afar, but I will change your circumstances even here. You will see new beauties not only in the landscape and surroundings, but in the people  around you. When it is time to move your location I will, and I will have prepared your way. When it is time to sit still and let Me remake you right where you are, be patient and rejoice and delay not the work I have set about to bring forth through you. Do not run from Me, only press into Me deeply with a sincere and undivided heart.

Psalm 121:1-8

“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.”

Psalm 124:1-8

“If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, now may Israel say; if it had not been the Lord who was on our side, when men rose up against us:Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us: Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul: Then the proud waters had gone over our soul. Blessed be the Lord, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth. Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped. Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.”

Psalm 126:1-6

“When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The Lord hath done great things for them. The Lord hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad. Turn again our captivity, O Lord, as the streams in the south. They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.”

Isaiah 41:17-20

“When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue faileth for thirst, I the Lord will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them. I will open rivers in high places, and fountains in the midst of the valleys: I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water. I will plant in the wilderness the cedar, the shittah tree, and the myrtle, and the oil tree; I will set in the desert the fir tree, and the pine, and the box tree together: That they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that the hand of the Lord hath done this, and the Holy One of Israel hath created it.”

Ephesians 3:20-21

“Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen”
