The Boundary Lines

The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places. With eyes fully upon the Lord, webecome aware of this reality. When our hearts are divided between what we have and what we think we want, then comes rushing in feelings of discontent, frustration, agitation, restlessness, insecurities, depression, self-pity, and our soundness of mind and body is caught up in the rush of varied anxieties. We may persist in this state of being when even with one moment of stillness and one sigh of , “Jesus I worship you” our hearts are lifted to higher places and we behold His beauty and sense His presence.

As we let go of all else and acknowledge that He is our sole reason of existence (which He already is), at last in any circumstance our hearts can find peace and bodies rest secure, our hearts can be glad and filled with joy, our tongues will speak forth all manner of delights rather than bitterness, criticisms, and gall. He is so very near, all we need is to be still before Him and cease our busyness. Nothing is more important than this connection. Those of us who have let our attentions be otherwise engaged upon cares of the world can testify with great conviction that all else is empty except knowing Him, walking with Him moment by moment, and living our lives as Christ as our refuge.

Psalm 16:1-11

“Keep me safe, my God, for in you I take refuge. I say to the Lord, ‘You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing.’ I say of the holy people who are in the land, ‘They are the noble ones in whom is all my delight.’ Those who run after other gods will suffer more and more. I will not pour out libations of blood to such gods or take up their names on my lips. Lord, you alone are my portion and my cup; you make my lot secure. The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance. I will praise the Lord, who counsels me; even at night my heart instructs me. I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure, because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead, nor will you let your faithful one see decay. You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.”
