Seeking His Direction

Jesus knows what is the best path for us.  In our early walk with the Lord, God will often open and close doors to help direct our steps.  As we come to know His voice intimately, He can lead us not by circumstances, but by His Spirit and that still small voice that tells us to walk this way or that.  Choosing which path can include choosing a job, a college, a husband/wife, or any decision we make.  We can only see down the road of each choice before us with a limited view, but God knows the end from the beginning.  As He guides us we choose to follow Him by faith. It is well worth stepping out and following Him in faith, for He is our great reward and knows how we are made.

He not only leads us in our next steps, but in how He uses us to pour out to others. When God gives us words or actions to share with another ours is not to figure it all out, but share the Father’s heart and pour out as He gives us wisdom and understanding.  Our responsibility is to pour out what God desires to share through us His vessels.  In my own life, I sought Him further on a matter and received the word below.  I hope this speaks to your heart and gives you comfort as you continue to follow Him wholeheartedly.

What more do you want me to reveal?  What more can I say to thee, for I have given you your marching orders. I say walk this way and I say stop here and rest and here I say reveal. Yours is to follow My leading and let Me work out the details. Sometimes I will reveal all and sometimes I will reveal part. Yours is not to fix, only reveal and speak forth, “thus saith the Lord.”

  • “Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”  Isaiah 30:21
  • “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.”  John 10:27-28
  • “To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.  And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.”  John 10:3-5
