Prayer of Salvation
Come all you who are weary and Jesus will give you rest for your souls. If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. Below is a prayer provided to give you an idea of what it means to accept Jesus into your heart – you don’t have to pray the exact words, it is provided as a gentle guide rather than a formula.
“Jesus, I am a sinner. I believe you came to earth as man and died as a spotless sacrifice to redeem humankind from his sinful state. I am sorry for my sins and ask for your forgiveness. I want you to be my Savior. Come into My heart and fill me with Your Holy Spirit, so I can live for you all of my days sustained by your love, mercy, grace, and covered by Your righteousness. Thank you for forgiving me of all my sins and making me a new creation. From this day forward, I choose to follow you. Jesus, I proclaim you are Lord of my life. Amen”
The simplicity of the Gospel of Christ is evidenced in the following scripture from the Holy Bible
“If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.” Romans 10:9-10
Jesus desires us to come to Him, be washed clean of all sin, and take on His righteousness so that we can live with Him forever
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
The Apostle John tells us of Jesus
“He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” John 1:11-13
We cannot earn His love or be righteous in our own selves, it is God’s righteousness we take on and when He looks at us He sees Jesus’ sacrifice for our sins
“This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.” Romans 3:22-24
After we believe in Jesus by faith, we can walk in His grace all of our days
“Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God.” Romans 5:1-2
This simple, yet powerful, gospel of Jesus Christ is to be shared throughout the earth, so that all who believe can know God.
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the nam
e of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20
