Rather than a word of justice, I give you a word of freedom to give life and strength to a weary heart. I change you with My kindness, not my justice. There will be a time when mercy is no more. Be found to give mercy upon mercy to others, for how easy it will go with you when you stand before Me. Fear not walking in grace and love toward others, for many believe they will not be paid in full or that another will have something over on them so they meet out justice to actions and evils done by others.
Have I not said that a kindness to your enemy is like burning coals upon their heads. My intent in this is to burn away the stronghold of the mind and free the soul to see My undeserved goodness and favor even when they meet our harm or are encompassed about with the deceitful workings of the enemy and live in tormenting confusion – some believe their works are for the betterment of all and at times do not see their actions tear down dear ones.
If your enemy is hungry, feed him, if thirsty give him a drink, if he requires you walk a mile, go with him two, offer even the cloak from your back that you would be cold and he warm, for I see each response and action you take on behalf of your enemy. My goodness leads men to repentance. You are my arm of goodness in the world.
Proverbs 25:21-22
“If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat; if he is thirsty, give him water to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head, and the Lord will reward you.”
Matthew 5:38-48
“You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’ But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also. And if anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, hand over your coat as well. If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles. Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you. You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.”
