Honey on My Lips

Prayer: Father, I feel listless, not knowing exactly where I’m supposed to be and what I’m supposed to do.  My heart longs for more than I’m doing now. I come before you right where I am and worship you  with My whole heart, letting go of all I think I want, of all I left behind, of all that surrounds me now. I release even my regrets to Thee. All the answers, purpose, and life are found in Your presence, Oh God.

How sweet this place where I still my body, quiet my heart, and lift my eyes and worship Thee. Your words drip from my lips like honey, how sweet are the taste of them. Your words feed the nations, Your words refresh a weary soul, Your words settle a restless heart, Your words are what I long for, Oh God. You satisfy my soul as with the richest of faire.

Honey-on-my-lips

Psalm 63:1-11

“You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water. I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory. Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands. I will be fully satisfied as with the richest of foods; with singing lips my mouth will praise you. On my bed I remember you; I think of you through the watches of the night. Because you are my help, I sing in the shadow of your wings. I cling to you; your right hand upholds me. Those who want to kill me will be destroyed; they will go down to the depths of the earth. They will be given over to the sword and become food for jackals. But the king will rejoice in God; all who swear by God will glory in him, while the mouths of liars will be silenced.”

Psalm 119:103

“How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!”

 John 6:67-69

“‘You do not want to leave too, do you?’ Jesus asked the Twelve. Simon Peter answered him, ‘Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. We have come to believe and to know that you are the Holy One of God.'”
