Let us look to the Holy Bible as the roadmap for navigating in our world today. Be not discouraged, beloveds. If you know God through Jesus Christ there is such hope. If you do not, then believe with your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord. For more, visit Believe.
For daily walking in our world today, the advice from 2,000 years ago still holds true today. Following is just a snippet of some practices to meditate upon. As I get back to the basics, I find that I do not apply these important truths in my everyday dealings with others.
I Thessalonians 5:1-28
“And we urge you, brothers and sisters, warn those who are idle and disruptive, encourage the disheartened, help the weak, be patient with everyone. Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always strive to do what is good for each other and for everyone else. Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. Do not quench the Spirit. Do not treat prophecies with contempt but test them all; hold on to what is good, reject every kind of evil. May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.”
Prayer
Lord, forgive us our sins as we forgive others. Lord I repent for every wrong and I forgive everyone. We desire to focus upon You and walk in the right way. You are good, Oh God, we turn our eyes upon Thee and receive every good thing from Your hands. Thank You for Your tender mercies that are new every morning. Thank You for Your faithfulness. Guide us as we navigate each day. Open our minds to understand Your Word through the Bible, quiet our hearts to hear Your voice guiding each of us in our unique paths, and help us become more aware of Your presence and Your hand at work. We commit our lives to Thee. Let the sound of our praise and the witness of our lives glorify Your Holy Name. In Jesus, Amen.
