Did you know that hens talk or cluck to their chicks whilst they are still in their eggs? As the chicks grow older and develop within the eggs, they also begin to peep and squeak back to their mum. This helps the chicks to create a bond with their mother before they even hatch. When chicks hatch, they know their mother’s voice and will follow it everywhere. If you’ve allowed your hen to brood on her nest and hatch her own chicks, you’ve had the opportunity to witness an iron-clad relationship between mother hen and chick. Those babies know their mother’s voice. (source: TheHappyChickenCoop.com)
After learning this fact about chickens, my heart turned to God in awe-inspiring worship at evidence of the works of His hands and the fingerprint of His love and tender care even through the least of these. He impressed the following on my heart:
Beloved, I speak to you before you see Me. You are growing and developing in your lifetime. I speak to Thee. You wrestle with the truth that you hear My voice, your heart bears disappointment as circumstances throughout your life did not go as you expected, even when you’ve heard from Me. Beloved My word will not return to Me void but will accomplish the purpose for which I sent it.
My voice is behind you saying, this is the way you should go, walk ye in it. I’ve always spoken to you, I sang over you even in your mother’s womb. I knit you together, you are fearfully and wonderfully made.
You fret that you cannot hear Me, that I am no longer close to thee. Beloved, I’ve never left you. You have believed and responded to your feelings and leaned to your own understanding.
Have I not said, ‘Trust in Me with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Me and I will make straight your paths. Be not wise in your own eyes; fear Me and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones’ (Proverbs 3:5-8).
All creation sings of Me. In any creation you can see the work of My hands.
