Do not give up, you are not a failure! The enemy would skew our perspectives to render us unable to see the accomplishments in our lives while highlighting our failures and missed opportunities. During such battles of spiritual warfare, we can feel like all future attempts at trying to make something of ourselves is futile. Let us take on God’s perspective in this matter.
I intricately formed you and called you forth from your mother’s womb. I surrounded you with My creation, for does not creation itself speak of My greatness. I wooed you throughout your life, for I desire to draw near to you and you to Me. The deep stirring in your soul was My deep calling unto your deep. I purposed you to know Me.
The works you accomplished by following the promptings of My Holy Spirit delight My heart. This is how you are to operate. Throughout your life, many things you did in your own strength, many choices you made did not include Me. My blood covers these transgressions. I make you a new creation.
I do not see your failures, I see the vessel I made to know Me, worship Me, and be called by My name. All the works you do – great or small – count as nothing without Me. Were you to lift your hands or lean upon your staff and worship Me now, I would take great delight in this. I Am your purpose.
Measure not your life by others successes or failures. Measure not your life by your own successes or failures against a standard you made up or others gave you. Measure your life’s purpose by your relationship to Me. It is not too late, there is breath in your lungs, live each moment with Me and see what I will do with your life.
Limit not My ability to work in you, pour onto you, or pour out through you by your current circumstances. Were you only to have a few moments left in time to lift your eyes to Me, this would be enough. How pleased I Am with you, my love. Were you to have 50 more years left in time to lift your eyes to Me and walk with Me in this life, this would also be enough.
My pleasure in you does not rest in your accomplishments but in Our oneness. Let Me take care of your purpose, for this is a heavy burden to carry. Let Me be your purpose and all else will take care of itself. I will give you strength to accomplish all I desire through you, and the one thing that you will measure your life by is Me in thee, and you in Me.
Psalm 139:13-18
“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand-when I awake, I am still with you.”
Psalm 103:1-22
“Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits – who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. The Lord works righteousness and justice for all the oppressed. He made known his ways to Moses, his deeds to the people of Israel: The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever; he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him; for he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust. The life of mortals is like grass, they flourish like a flower of the field; the wind blows over it and it is gone, and its place remembers it no more. But from everlasting to everlasting the Lord’s love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children’s children – with those who keep his covenant and remember to obey his precepts. The Lord has established his throne in heaven, and his kingdom rules over all. Praise the Lord, you his angels, you mighty ones who do his bidding, who obey his word. Praise the Lord, all his heavenly hosts, you his servants who do his will. Praise the Lord, all his works everywhere in his dominion. Praise the Lord, my soul.”
